the alteration of the building podium to house a single retail tenant resulted in this new building lobby facing into queen’s road central. the highlight of the space is a 4 storey void of 2.3m wide facing into the lift lobby. restrained use of materials accentuated the pecularity yet elegance of this 75s.m. lobby.

located by a river, this 6,500s.m. gfa manufacturing complex comprise the usual shopfloor, warehouse and head office block and workers’ dormitory and managers apartments. extensive studies was carried out to optimise the flow of materials in the production block, and generous use of landscaping and amenities caters for the work and living environment for the workers. the result is a campus more like a high-tech park than labour intensive manufacturing shop.

2 highlights of this 55s.m. net area flat: glass enclosure with book shelf partition allows southern light to filter into the windowless bathroom; and a sliding partition to provide multi-function use of the living/kitchen/dining area. the result is an airy living space full of delight and surprises.

simple materials together with simple and creative lighting created this chinese rural style restaurant set inside a shopping mall. re-cycled ‘green’ bricks, concrete roof paving tiles, white wall tiles and solid teak were all the materials employed.

located on a slope overlooking the south china sea, this modern townhouse was altered from the original building full of eclectic elements, while responding to the natural views and light provided by the surroundings.

operated by the same client as tasty root restaurant and located 2 shops down the street, the concept of this restaruant was to reverse the materials employed in the other venue. thus the the lights went back up to the ceiling and lightboxes went onto the walls, one of which is a full height menu at the shopfront. a high key- complement to the low key restaurant pair.

we started out to create this pair of showhouses located amongst the nature with the occupants’ use in mind and not just to attract them to put down the deposit payment. very restrained and careful use of materials and styling items not only gives a refreshed look to the typical showcase residential interior but also free up the spaces for more roomy feel.

a trend-setting project employing a mild steel cladded shopfront and extensive use light boxes for the tables, video projector, a 4.7m long table and bench seats. the resulting restaurant was booked extensively for corporate meetings and presentations during the day, and frequented by the young crowd in the evenings.
